Mrs. Vonretta Crews, age 46 of Nathalie, died on September 16th in South Boston. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Jeffress Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Brookneal.

Epps, Mrs. Bertha

Mrs. Bertha Epps of Burkeville died Sunday, September 16th,  in Richmond. A funeral notice will be given later by Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home of Amelia.

Clark, John, L.

Mr. John L. Clark, age 64, died on August 17th in Farmville. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 22nd, at Union Outreach Fellowship Church in Farmville.

Dailey, Milton

Mr. Milton Dailey, 83, of Randolph, Va. died in South Boston. He was the husband of Virginia Gayles Dailey. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 am at Giles-Harris Funeral Home Chapel, 1304 N. Main Street, Chase City. Interment will follow in Dailey Family Cemetery, Randolph. Public viewing will begin on Wednesday from 10 am until 7 pm at the funeral home. Family is being served by Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, Va.

Elliott, Betty Johnson

Betty Johnson Elliott, 79, of Appomattox, died Tuesday, September 18th. She was the wife of Charles Elliott for 60 years. She is also survived by two children: Teresa Dunn of Keysville and Linwood Elliott of Appomattox, one brother’ Lawrence Johnson of Pamplin, three grandchildren, Braxton, Elliott, and William, and Drew Elliott all of Appomattox. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 20th, at Rocks Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 19th, at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her son, Linwood. Robinson Funeral Home of Appomattox is serving the family.

Mr. Timothy Michael Green, age 38, of Farmville died September 6th, in Charlottesville. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 5th, at  1 p.m. from Spirit of Life Church of God in Christ in Farmville. Bland-Reid Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert “Bobby” Haley, age 78 of Charlotte Court House died on Saturday, September 5th, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 19th, in Phenix Presbyterian Church, Phenix, with interment to follow in Rough Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Phenix. Harris, Ora Goode

A funeral service for Mrs. Ora Goode Harris will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 21st, at the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Randolph. The body will lie instate from 1 p.m. to the hour of service. Interment in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held Thursday, September 20th, at the Garrette Dupee’s Memorial Chapel from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.. Dupee’s Funeral Home of Drakes Branch is serving the family.

Hicks, Mr. Lee Edward, Jr.

Mr. Lee Edward Hicks, Jr., age 82, died Sunday, September 16th, at his Burkeville residence. He was the husband of Mrs. Rachel Hicks. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Bland-Reid Funeral Home of Farmville.

Lucy Mae Jones, age 80, of Hampton died Thursday, September 13th. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 21st, at 1 noon at Shorter Funeral Home with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens. Merritt, (Pastor) William, Jr.

Pastor William Merritt, Jr. passed away on September 7, 2018. A visitation will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 from 12 pm until 7 pm at the Colbert-Wiley Funeral Home, Bremo Bluff, Va. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 am Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Buckingham Middle School (1184 High School Rd. Buckingham, Va. 23921). Burial will take place in Baskerville, Va.

Franklin Delano Watts, age 85, of Keysville, died Saturday, September 15th, in Ontario Christian Church Cemetery. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 20th, in the Ontario Christian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 – 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 19th, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, and at other times at the residence of Polly Beard, 260 Priddy Street, Keysville.
