The Farmville Town COuncil and planning commission will be holdsing special meetings in the coming days in order to update the town’s comprehensive plan, along with zoning ordinances and subdivision guidelines. Both the council and the commission will be seeking input from the community, as well as The Berkley Group, which is a local government consulting group that the town of Farmville works with. The Farmville Herald reports that the current comprehensive plan was established in 2005. The plan is basically a vison for the future of the town. It mainly covers how the town will grow and sets a variety of goals related to zoning and other ordinances. The first meeting will be Monday at 5:30 at the town office. A public hearing is scheduled for August 23rd from 6:30 to 8pm at the FIreeman’s Sports Arena at 1328 Zion Hill Road. Anyone who cannot attend the publiuc meeting is encouraged to submit ideas and questions to Assistant Town Manager Scott Davis.
