The food pantry that serves much of Prince Edward County and Farmville is getting a new home. The Farmville Herald reports that FACES Food Pantry is building a new, 7,000 square foot facility on Commerce Road in Prince Edward County, right next to the Southside Virginia Family YMCA. FACES President Ellery Sedgwick says they’ve been working for nearly three years on this new development, but things finally fell into place because the pantry received a nice grant from an organization called FeedMore. FeedMore is the old Central Virginia Food Bank. FeedMore confirmed that the grant was to the tune of a half million dollars. FeedMore CEO Douglas Pick said that the size of the grant is a testament to how important it thinks Farmville is. As soon as a site plane is presented and approved by the county, FACES will move forward with construction of the new facility.
